Skytower News, Riyadh and Houston

As part of the engagement strategy with key institutions in the Kingdom during the project viability and development mission, the Skytower and Tongli team held productive meetings with two research and development institutes under KACST. A particularly focused discussion took place with Dr. Afrah Mohammed Aldawsari, General Manager of the Refining and Petrochemical Technologies Institute. The conversation centered on identifying practical opportunities for R&D collaboration, leveraging Tongli Optical Film Group’s ongoing manufacturing and research experience alongside KACST’s existing capabilities and international partnerships with leading global R&D institutions.

Both sides expressed confidence in the promising outlook for industrial materials across MENA and EU markets. They agreed that a strategic collaboration could significantly contribute to advancing the Kingdom’s localization of manufacturing and support broader Vision 2030 goals. As a next step, the parties will work together to define a clear roadmap to align their respective R&D strengths in support of this shared vision.

This strategic meeting highlights the strong potential to combine Tongli Group’s industrial expertise in advanced materials with the local research capabilities of KACST. By aligning research and development efforts with key Saudi industries such as construction, automotive, new energy, semiconductors, and ICT, this collaboration can significantly strengthen the Kingdom’s regional advantage in supply chain development. Leveraging Saudi Arabia’s polymer resources alongside Tongli’s generational experience in optical film innovation is a compelling example of how industry-driven R&D can deliver practical, high-impact outcomes.
