Our Approach

No Carbon Development (NCD) is the STI objective to allow achievement of Carbon Neutrality sooner. Low carbon development is an intermediate goal but not a solution. No Carbon Development (NCD) goals can unleash true human ingenuity and provide a faster path forward to Carbon Neutrality.

As the global scientific community has already warned that Climate Change is accelerating faster than predicted and the efforts at slowing its effects have so far had marginal success. Half way measures (such as low carbon focused approaches) will not achieve results needed; rather than changing current ways of producing value that societies have relied upon for centuries now entirely new realistic and achievable methods and supporting philosophies are needed.

STI promotes the achievement of Carbon Neutrality with a gameplan based upon No Carbon and Sustainable Economic development that emphasize new technology producing new alternatives for old products and methods and, if produced can, fulfill global needs while reaching Carbon Neutrality sooner.

There is a different way forward: “keep carbon pollution out of the atmosphere” thereby accelerating Carbon Neutrality sooner than global target schedules. As both US and China learned decades ago but never embraced, “once carbon pollution produced as a byproduct of any man-made process is released into the atmosphere, no amount of effort can recapture or mitigate it.” What is needed are: new non carbon means and creative thinking to engineer carbon pollution out of the value development process and find no carbon substitute processes and alternatives.
